Arrow Vanes: Reviews & Rankings

Hunting and 3D plastic vanes scored on the numbers makers print — 100-pack street price, vane height, and grain weight.

A $16 36-pack and a $33 100-pack are not the same purchase. A 4-inch indoor shield is a third object. A 5-inch feather is a fourth. Put them on one price board and the small pack wins. That is a merge, not a ranking. This page is hunting and 3D plastic vanes only. Frozen at $26–$44 / 100. We score three printed numbers: the maker 100-pack street, printed vane height, and printed grain weight. Feathers wait. 3.5-inch indoor shields wait. 36-packs and 50-packs wait. Wraps and glue wait. Factory-fletched arrows already live on Arrows. Length, stiffness, shape, and base material sit on the table. They are not scores. Colorways at the same sticker are notes, not extra products. Missing numbers drop. We never write a 36-pack as a 100-pack. We never add a Heat 0.41 from the hunting page when the shop and the 2025 chart print 0.44. We never guess, and we never zero.

How to read this: Hunting and 3D plastic vanes only. Maker 100-pack list, solid / starting-at black (or cheapest solid if black is a premium print). Frozen $26–$44 / 100. Length window ~1.95–2.8 in. Do not merge into Arrows, Fletching Jigs, or Arrow Rests, and do not put natural feathers, 3.5 in+ target / indoor shields, arrow wraps, fletching glue, or factory-fletched arrows on this board. Do not mix a 36-pack or a 50-pack against a 100-pack on raw price. This board scores 100-pack street price, printed vane height, and printed grain weight inside that frozen $26–$44 / 100 band. Height higher=better is a hunting/3D number inside 0.44–0.55 in. Grain lower=better is a 4.8–9.0 gn plastic number. A 4 in target shield or a 5 in feather would invert both. A 36-pack scored as a 100-pack would invert price. Length, stiffness, shape, and base material are displayOnly. Colorways are not extra products. Unpublished specs DROP and remaining weights renormalise. Never guess, never zero. Never score IBO, FOC, GPI, or spine. Keep feathers, 3.5in+ target, 50-packs, wraps, and factory-fletched arrows out.

Arrow Vane buying guide

Why isn't an AAE MAX Hunter, a Gateway feather, or a 4-inch X-Vane on this list?
AAE MAX Hunter and Hybrid 26 ship as 50-packs. Scoring that sticker against a 100-pack inverts price. Gateway, Trueflight, and Duraflight are natural feathers — a different object, and a 5-inch feather would invert height and grain. Bohning X-Vane 3.5 / 4-inch Bronco / Zen are indoor or FITA shields. Drop one here and the height rank inverts. This page starts at the TAC Summit 1.95 at $26.99 / 100.
Why isn't this just a section under Arrows, Fletching Jigs, or Arrow Rests?
Arrows score shaft straightness and spine on a finished dozen. That is where Easton factory-fletched hunting arrows stay. Fletching jigs score vanes per cycle and clamp length on a shop tool. Arrow rests score containment and micro-adjust on the riser. A hunting vane scores 100-pack street, printed height, and printed grain inside a $26–$44 / 100 freeze. Fold them together and a $16 36-pack looks cheap against a $200 jig, which tells you nothing useful about either purchase.
Why is Heat 0.44 inches — and why didn't you write 0.41?
The live Heat shop PDP prints 0.44 in (11.3 mm). The 2025 Bohning vane chart prints 0.44. The hunting-vanes overview still says 0.41. We encode the shop number and the chart. We do not write the hunting-page 0.41. Height is scored. A silent page would drop and the other weights would renormalise. We never guess, and we never zero.
Why is Super Sabre 7.0 grains when the body says 7.1?
The labeled header on dcacustomarrows.com/products/super-sabre-vanes prints Weight: 7.0 ±0.1 Grains. The body later says 7.1 ±0.1. We encode the labeled header. Mini Sabre prints 6.0 in both places, so Mini is 6.0. We do not add a three-vane total.
Matrix 2.25 and Driver 2.25 share a sticker. Why are they two rows?
Same $27.99 / 100. Different family, height, and grain. Matrix is 0.50 in / 5.1 gn. Driver 2.25 is 0.465 in / 5.0 gn. That is not a colorway. Driver High Profile is the other way: $31.99 with Driver 2.75, but 0.515 in / 5.1 gn against the 2.75's 0.475 in / 6.2 gn. Colorways at the same sticker stay in notes.
Why isn't a Fusion X-II, a Black Sky, a wrap kit, or an Easton factory arrow here?
Q2i Fusion X-II is a target vane by the maker's own page. Bohning Black Sky is a Blazer-material twin. TrueFletch wrap kits and primer pens are a different SKU. Easton factory-fletched arrows already live on live Arrows. If a maker PDP 404s, that SKU drops. We do not replace it with AAE 50-packs, feathers, a 4-inch shield, or a wrap.

What the CareScore measures

The complete formula, bounds and data rules are published on the methodology page.

Street Price (100-pack)

41% weight

Maker 100-pack list, solid / starting-at black. Do not encode a 36, 50, or 1,000 pack. Do not encode Bohning True Color / RWB / Topo / printed dollars. Do not encode a kit+glue bundle. Frozen at $26–$44 / 100 so a $16 36-pack cannot steal the rank, and a $75 printed Alpha stays parked.

Height

31% weight

Inches as printed. Heat is 0.44 from the shop PDP and the 2025 Bohning chart — do not encode Heat 0.41 from the hunting page. Higher is better inside this hunting/3D window. A 4 in target shield would invert the rank.

Grain Weight

28% weight

Printed grains per vane. Blazer is 6.1. DCA Super Sabre is 7.0 from the labeled header, not the body 7.1. Do not add three-vane totals. Lower is better inside this 4.8–9.0 gn plastic window. A 5 in feather would invert the rank.
