World Archery Adds Nigeria's Abdullahi to Commonwealth Games Committee

Mohammed Baba Abdullahi — Deputy Secretary-General of the Nigeria Olympic Committee — received his appointment via letter dated May 15, addressed to Robert Fiddyment and Raul Calin. Nigeria's NOC Public Relations Officer Tony Nezianya framed it as a signal of growing Nigerian influence on the global archery stage.

Abdullahi joins Karl Balisch, Trina Roberts, Ainsley Ward, and Virendra Sachdeva on the Executive Board roster, with the group drawing from different continents and areas of expertise. Juan Carlos Holgado stays on as federation liaison staff member for the committee.

World Archery Secretary General Raul Calin kept it brief: 'We look forward to their contributions.' The timing matters — the federation is actively advocating for archery's place in Commonwealth Games programming, and having experienced administrators at the table strengthens that case.
